Bressanone's old town is an architectural jewel, consisting of countless picturesque squares, winding alleys and magnificent buildings. The oldest part of the city is on the other side of the Eisack river. It can be reached via the Adlerbrücke bridge. The Eisack has always been both a curse and a blessing for the city. The blue gold - as water is affectionately called here - is omnipresent in Brixen. People are proud of this valuable resource. Every year in April / May, the Water Light Festival takes place in Bressanone and the surrounding area. Artists from near and far create installations of light at the various water locations in the city and provide a moving insight into the extensive world of water.
